The movie Home Alone 3 (Home Alone 3) released in 1997 is the third part in the famous Home Alone series. Unlike the first two parts with the familiar character Kevin McCallister, this part brings a completely new story with the main character being the boy Alex Pruitt, 8 years old, with humorous and attractive adventures.
Home Alone 3 is about a group of international spies consisting of four members: Petr Beaupre, Alice Ribbons, Jernigan and Unger. This group steals an important military microchip from the US Government. To avoid the security forces at the airport, they hide the chip in a remote control toy car (RC car). However, a luggage mix-up at the airport causes the toy car containing the chip to be switched with the luggage of Mrs. Hess, an elderly woman living in Alex’s neighborhood.
Unaware of the existence of the chip, Mrs. Hess brings the car home as a gift for Alex. When the spies discover that the car has been mistaken, they begin a plan to search every house in the neighborhood to find the chip.
Alex, a smart and mischievous boy, is home alone due to chickenpox. During his time at home, he notices the suspicious actions of the spies. With his keen observation and rich imagination, Alex quickly discovers their plot and decides to take action to protect the toy car – which he does not know contains national secrets.
Thanks to his intelligence, Alex has created a series of traps in the house to stop the spies. These traps are not only effective but also bring impressive humorous situations. From electric shocks, glue, to painful collisions, the spies, despite being professionally trained, still continuously fall into the traps set by the 8-year-old boy.
The battle between Alex and the spy group is extremely tense but also full of laughter. After using cameras and homemade devices to record evidence, Alex contacts the police. Thanks to his intelligence and courage, the police intervene in time and arrest the entire spy group. The important military microchip is returned to the Government, and Alex becomes a hero in the neighborhood.
The movie ends with a funny and happy atmosphere. Alex is praised by his family, friends and neighbors for his intelligence and courage. Once again, the message that courage and creativity can overcome all difficulties is clearly portrayed in the movie.
Home Alone 3 is directed by Raja Gosnell and stars Alex D. Linz as Alex Pruitt. Besides, the movie also features Scarlett Johansson as Molly Pruitt, Alex’s sister, a memorable role in her early career.
